Cover the specimen with a microscope covering glass. After having prepared your microscope slide, drop some of the Golden Teacher spore solution on it. Many of our customers are scientists or enthusiasts, doing research on these differences in a homemade laboratory. The differences in phenotype can be seen with the naked eye, but the true beauty lies under the microscope. The Golden Teacher is a strain of Psilocybe cubensis. These different cubensis are not considered subspecies, but different strains. There are numerous Psilocybe cubensis that have different phenotypes. But they do differ slightly in appearance and fruiting speed (phenotype). Seen from a scientific point of view all Psilocybe cubensis are alike. Study spores and research using a microscope After the Golden Teacher spore solution is injected, remove the syringe and close the injection port with the port protection cap. Now drop the spore solution evenly over the substrate inside the spawn bag or grow box. Use a alco prep to sterilize the injection port entry.
Open the injection port by pulling back the port protection cap. This is almost identical as dropping the spore solution onto the substrate. One 20cc spore syringe can easily colonize 6 liters / 13 pints of substrate. How many cakes can you make with spore syringe? Every drop that will be in contact with the substrate will be a potential mycelium growth point, so spread out these drops all over the substrate to evenly colonize the substrate with mycelium. Press the plunger slowly so that drops of spore solution will come out of the needle. To proceed from here, there are several methods to choose from: Dropping the spore solution onto the substrateĪfter having prepared your own substrate or cakes you can drop the Golden Teacher spore solution directly from the syringe onto these. Shake the spore syringe vigorously for ten seconds before you remove the protective cap from the needle. Take the needle out of the sterile package and screw it on the Golden Teacher spore syringe. Remove the luer lock stopper by screwing it counter-clockwise. Hold the Golden Teacher spore syringe in front of you with the luer lock stopper pointing upwards. Wear a face mask and sterile gloves and/or disinfect your hands. Make sure to work as hygienic as possible. With this stopper attached makes it easier to transport and to store the Golden Teacher spore syringe. The Golden Teacher spore solution is held inside the syringe by a luer lock stopper on the end where the needle goes.

How to use the Golden teacher spore syringe 1x 20cc Golden Teacher spore solution in a 20ml syringe.Syringes can be kept like this for several months after which they become noticeably less viable.Golden Teacher 20cc magic mushroom spore syringes are produced under sterile conditions and should be kept dark and refrigerated (2-8☌) to increase the shelf life of the cubensis spores. Don?t forget to lable them with strain and date. The needle cap is replaced and the syringes are put in the fridge until ready to use. Syringes can then be filled with spore suspension. Pull the plunger back and forth a few times to disperse the spores in the water. Some spore suspension is sucked up in the syringe. Just wrap them in tinfoil and sterilize for 25-30 minutes. Most syringes can be reused by sterilizing them in a pressure cooker. If the spores are visible in the water there should be enough. Repeat if not enough spores have been transferred. If the loop is too hot the spores will be killed or the plastic will melt to it.:ĭeposit the spores into the water and quickly replace the tinfoil. Open the baggie with the spore print and scrape some of the spores of the paper.
Peal back the tinfoil of the flask so that it can be removed easily but leave it covering the flask. Alternatively you can use a resterilizes inoculation loop.
The inoculation loop or scalpel is flamed until red hot, and left to cool. If available wear gloves that have been disinfected with alcohol 70% or lysol.ĬAUTION: Most disinfectants are flammable, use extreme caution when using these in combination with an open flame!īefore you start clean the working surface with alcohol or lysol. If you do not have access to one of these you can perform it in the open air, but chances of success are smaller. If possible perform the following procedure in a glove box or HEPA filtered environment. The most important thing in the whole process is to work clean. *Clean flame source (gas- or alcohol burner) *Small amount of sterilized water in a bottle (capped with tinfoil) *Inoculation loop/scalpel (something to pick up the spores) To make a spore syringe you will need the following items: This document can be found on our website, but i hadn?t posted it here yet.Īlthough the photographs show the procedure in the open air we make all spore syringes in a flow cabinet!
